Introduction

To comply with the needs of emerging and developing international and multinational enterprises in the twenty-first century, the Department of International Business and Trade (IBT), was established in 1999 and renamed in 2001. It aims at developing and training students to meet the requirements for internationalization and globalization in the world's competitive landscape. The IBT department , recruiting one class per year, provides fascinating and practical courses in which students are able to learn innovative and professional knowledge about International Business and Trade.

Specifically, the programs focus on international business management, international trade, as well as global economics both in theory and practice. The curricula include international management and international trade, in accordance with a degree program of convention exhibition & international marketing, to benefit students in professional knowledge and practice in internship, competitions, and events to cultivate professionals of finance and trade.

So far, the department has participated and/or hosted large-scaled events, including 2014 Kaohsiung Exhibition Center (KEC) and Taiwan International Fastener Show Joint Opening Ceremony, 2014 Taiwan International Boat Show, 2013 Exhibition of Digital Marketing Planning Competition, 2012 Kaohsiung District MICE industry Development Trend Forum, 2012 Nationwide Exhibition Planning and Creation College Contest, 2012 Kaohsiung International Conference Centre (ICCK) Opening Ceremony, the SME Prospects and Strategies Forum Services Reception , and 2010 Ohmae Speech Reception in addition to dazzling achievements in city marketing planning exhibition contests organized by Ministry of Economic Affairs for four consecutive years.
